Developing Genetic Tools to Mitigate the Environmental Impact of Dairy Systems.

An exciting opportunity for 8 PhD positions exists in a new collaborative project GreenhouseMilk.

GreenhouseMilk will harness statistical and genetic tools to elucidate the genetics of emissions in dairy cattle and develop innovative and integrative tools that address the environmental impact of dairy farming. Students will complete most of their PhD research at one partner institute, but also benefit from being able to move to conduct research as a placement in another country. Studentships are generously funded, with living allowances of €33,000. All studentships are available straight away. Applicants from all countries are welcome but must normally be nationals of a State other than that of the host & move country when taking up their appointment, & must also be in the first 4 years of their research activity.
