Summer school: Flux measurement techniques: methods, sensors, databases and modeling

This ten day summer school will consist of lectures/exercises (4 to 8 hours per day), common measurements at Tuczno forest site, and visits to Rzecin Wetland site and Brody agriculture site.

We expect all trainees to arrive in Poznan from where we will organize a minibus transport to Tuczno Castle (120 km). The opening lecture by Professor Timo Vesala will take place on Sunday at 17:00.

Our course will address several topics related to flux measurement techniques: eddy covariance technique, database and eddy data post-processing, relaxed eddy accumulation technique, disjunct eddy covariance technique, soil profile measurements, chambers measurements, air profile measurements and modeling.

All lecture/exercises are prepared and given by the members of the Management Committee of the ABBA and MAFor Actons, and by invited experts:

The cost of the summer school is about 700 Euro per trainee (excluding travel costs). We expect about 30-35 trainees and ABBA can support about 20 and MAFor can support 4 of them.

The deadline for application is 1st of May 2011 (application form attached). The applicants will be informed about the results by May 31st.
