PHD on Measurements of nitrous oxide fluxes at the farm and field scale, CEH Edinburgh, UK

Nitrous oxide (N2O) is an important greenhouse gas and agricultural soils are the largest source. Flux measurements are usually made using small chambers and then scaled up to the field, farm and even national scale using very simple mathematical equations. This process is highly uncertain and needs to be verified by more sophisticated measurements.

Colorado State University, Postdoctoral Fellow, Linking soil biodiversity and ecosystem processes in a low-diversity ecosystem

Diana Wall, Department of Biology at Colorado State University, seeks a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to take a leading role in ongoing research on patterns and the controls of belowground communities in the McMurdo Dry Valley LTER, Antarctica. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the soil biodiversity component of the McMurdo LTER, thus knowledge and experience in long term, multiple research sites is highly desirable.
