Summer school: Flux measurement techniques: methods, sensors, databases and modeling

This ten day summer school will consist of lectures/exercises (4 to 8 hours per day), common measurements at Tuczno forest site, and visits to Rzecin Wetland site and Brody agriculture site.

Contribution from the scientists of the nitrogen-cycle community is desired by the 8th International Conference on Acid Deposition, which will occur in Beijing on 15-18 June 2011. After the formerly announced deadline of 22 February 2011, the conference organizers may continue to accept abstracts until end March. If you submit your abstracts after 22 February, please send requests to acidrain2010@mail.iap.ac.cn before submission.

Nitrous oxide (N2O) is an important greenhouse gas and agricultural soils are the largest source. Flux measurements are usually made using small chambers and then scaled up to the field, farm and even national scale using very simple mathematical equations. This process is highly uncertain and needs to be verified by more sophisticated measurements.
